A horrifying case from Beed, Maharashtra, has shaken the district after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her cousin and paternal grandfather. The victim endured prolonged abuse under threat to her life. The case was exposed only after unbearable physical pain forced her to confide in a doctor. Police arrested the accused, but the family faced a 10-hour delay at the sub-district hospital due to the absence of a female gynecologist, sparking public outrage. (378 characters)

Beed, Maharashtra: A deeply disturbing incident has shocked the entire Beed district, where a 15-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to repeated sexual assault by her cousin brother and paternal grandfather — the very people who were supposed to protect her.According to the complaint, the cousin repeatedly forced himself on the minor while she was grazing goats in the fields. The paternal grandfather allegedly exploited her whenever she was alone at home. The accused reportedly threatened to kill the girl if she revealed the abuse, forcing her to endure fear, mental trauma, and physical pain for a long time within her own house.The case came to light when the girl’s physical suffering became unbearable. She disclosed the ordeal to a doctor during treatment. The cousin is accused of tying the girl’s hands and stuffing a handkerchief in her mouth before committing the assault.Following the revelation, the girl and her family reached the police station to file a complaint. They spent the entire night there, and the First Information Report was finally registered at 5 AM. The victim was then sent for a medical examination.Medical Negligence Adds to Victim’s TraumaThe family reached the sub-district hospital with the victim at 11 AM. Hospital authorities informed them that the female gynecologist was not available. The family waited for over 10 hours, with the required doctor still absent even at 9 PM. This administrative lapse triggered widespread anger among the victim’s family and local residents.Police have registered a case and arrested both accused.This shocking case of betrayal and systemic delay highlights the vulnerability of minor girls even inside their homes and raises serious questions about the preparedness of health facilities to handle sensitive cases involving sexual violence against children.
